Encyclopédie des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes au XXème Siècle.

1925. 12 vols., each with introductory text on various fields in the decorative arts, bibliography, index, and close to 100 fine plates, (altogether over 1000, some in fine color), showing examples of architecture, furnishings, and other decorative arts of the first quarter of this century. 4to. 3/4 vellum with decorated boards, ornate metallic endpapers, some volumes slightly shaken, some slight wear and minor losses to some spine, very minor soiling. Paris (Imprimerie Nationale/Office Central d'Editions et de Librairie) 1925.

A complete set of a publication that offers a great survey of art and artists represented at the "Art Déco" show of 1925, notably of the French contribution that includes film and photography. Russia is present at the short moment of its avant-garde glory, Austria with its great production under the leadership of Josef Hofmann. Other topics covered include public art, gardens, theater arts, sports and games, transportation, textile arts, the art of the book, metalwork, furniture, architecture, clothing, and jewelry. When shelved consecutively, the lettering on the spines reads "Arts Décoratifs Industriels Modernes." Incredibly scarce; as of August 2018, WorldCat does not locate any institutional holdings in North America.
