Contemporary buckram boards with gilt spine label; front and rear wrappers preserved; 152, [6], 308, [8], 554, [10] pp. Copiously annotated in the margins with buyers' names and sales prices by an unknown prior owner; lacking the plates; else about very good.

Complete series of the important sales catalog in three volumes, bound preserving all wrappers, but lacking the plates. The sale comprised some 2493 volumes and was especially rich in French bindings from the late seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, including manuscripts, and books of interesting or notable provenance, including those of ten monarchs, Diane de Poitiers, Mme. de Pompadour, etc.. With indices of binders, previous owners, etc.

This copy of the catalog has been extensively annotated by a party present at the sale, with all three volumes reflecting the names of buyers and prices paid. Among them were the firms of Maggs and Quaritch, Chamonal, Mc Leigh, Lady Ingraham, Sawyer, A. S. W. Rosenbach, Breslauer, Eisenmann, Beres, Goldschmidt, and numerous other luminaries of rare book dealing and collecting.
