Luigi Bartolini was an Italian poet and artist considered to be among the greatest Italian engravers of the 20th century. He participated in almost every Venice Biennale held from 1928 to 1962, and received a prize for engraving in 1942. During his lifetime he published over 70 books with major publishing houses, contributed to major Italian newspapers and magazines, and wrote the novel off of which the famous Vittoria De Sica film "I Ladri di Biciclette (Bicycle Thieves)" is based. Very scarce; as of August 2017, WorldCat locates only a single holding in a North American library.
