Provo was a Dutch counterculture movement active in the mid-1960s, focused on provoking violent responses from authorities using non-violent methods and absurdist humor. Provo was founded on May 25, 1965, by anti-smoking activist Robert Jasper Grootveld, together with Roel van Duijn and Rob Stolk, two anarchists. The movement disbanded just two years later, on May 13, 1967. Very scarce; as of February 2019, WorldCat locates only two holdings in North American institutions.
