First editon of the second volume of poems by Nobel Prize winning Czech writer and poet Jaroslav Seifert. In 1922, Seifert and Karel Teige travelled to Paris, where they met numerous key figures of the avant-garde world, such as Le Corbusier and Man Ray. Immediately afterwards, they published the hugely influential almanach "Devetsil" and founded the eponymous avant-garde group. The "Poetist" style evidenced in the present volume shows his fascination with the Russian Revolution, surrealism, and Dadaism. With wrappers and four full-page drawings by Otakar Mrkvička.
