During the course of this comic, the protagonist, Walter Echo, meets a chimpanzee named Bamboo Papers. With Bamboo, Walter starts experimenting with drugs including marijuana, heroin, and LSD, and subsequently hallucinates. The end of this comic reads, "Will our hero make it? Don't miss the next issue of Amazing Dope Tales! Including the origin of Bamboo Papers!" However, there is no indication that a second issue was ever published. Publication information was obtained from J. Kennedy's Official Underground and Newave Comix Price Guide. This issue is one of two known states, one with the leaves bound out of order.
