First edition of this richly illustrated album on Soviet city greening, with numerous photographs of Moscow boulevards, parks, as well as decorative elements and “green architecture” from a variety of Soviet cities in the late 1940s. The album was intended as a textbook for urban planners on green space architecture and includes tables and building plans in addition to drawings and photo illustrations.
Little is known about the author, Leonid Lunts, a Soviet urban planner who authored over a dozen monographs and textbooks on landscape architecture, including “Greening of the Factory Grounds” (1948) and “Parks of Culture and Leisure” (1934).
