An early Conceptualist publication of the Polish Neo-Avant Garde Wrocław based artists Anna Kutera (b.1952) and Romuald Kutera (1949-2020). A hybrid between an art object and performance documentation, this item was created with Piotor Błażejewski, Mirosław Glinski, Wiesława Siwicka, and includes the portraits of the participating artists. Graduates of the Academy of Fine Art and Design in Wrocław, Anna and Romuald Kutera ran the Gallery of Contemporary Art located in their apartment in Wrocław in 1975-1985, where they held performances, staged installations, and exhibited works of photography, video as well as mail art. This early publication “provoked animated discussion” in the Polish Neo-Avant Garde community, with Romuald Kutera subsequently co-founding the Recent Art Gallery (RAG) in 1976. Anna Kutera later founded Salon of Newest Art (Salon Sztuki Najnowszej) in 1981. Members of the Polish group of Contextual artists, Anna and Romuald Kutera also took part in the famous Swedish exhibition “Contextual Art” in Lund, Sweden in 1976 which brought Contextualism into the international arena. This copy signed by Kutera and limited (no. 71 of 100 copies).
