Czech translation of Machado's ballad "La tierra de Alvargonzález," first published in 1912 and republished in 1933, which was chosen in connection with the Spanish Civil War and the Czechoslovak solidarity movement. Overall design by Miroslav Kouřil. Translated by František Nechvátal and with a preface by Václav Černý. Published by Jaroslav Kohoutek. In addition to the regular run, fifty copies were numbered and printed on "Japan-Chamois."
The book was published as volume two of the "Edice Blok" (Block Edition) series, associated with the Blok Group, which published the journal "U" from 1936 until February 1939. The group united various writers, under the aegis of Bedřich Václavek (1897-1943), and was oriented towards Soviet socialist realism and politically engaged in anti-fascist opposition.
As of December 2021, KVK, OCLC show only two copies in North America.
