Second edition (first printed in 1907 in Galicia) of this historico-philosophical treatise by Pachovs'kyi (1878–1942), the first chapter of which features the caption "Ukraine – the first modern nation." Pachovs'kyi was born in Galicia and worked as a teacher in Galicia and Transcarpathia following his studies at Lviv and Vienna. In addition to historical studies, he was a member of the "Zolota Muza" (Golden Muse) group and published poetry and plays, often with patriotic themes.
