Warsaw: Iskry, 1985. Octavos (21 × 15 cm). Original decorative wrappers; 174, [1] and 269, [2] pp. Very good, save for old labels to rear wrappers.

First edition. First Polish translation of this sci-fi classic by Frank Herbert, translated by a prolific translator of fantasy and sci-fi Marek Marszał. The novel was originally published in serialised form in Analog in 1963–1965. This two volume translation was released in Poland only twenty years later, by the State-run publishing house Iskry, which specialised in literature for children and young adults. The first volume includes a short bio of the author, as well as a list of his other works, some of which had been published in Poland previously by underground presses. Due to the great success of the novel in Poland, a second edition was issued in 1986. Wrapper design by the graphic artist Kazimierz Hałajkiewicz.

As of September 2022, KVK, OCLC show no copies of this first edition outside of Poland.
