Original calf-backed cloth boards with gilt-stamped front board, bound with two screw mounts; 47 mounted photographs. Album professionally repaired, mounting pages slightly warped, some occasional toning and soiling to mounts, photographs overall very good. Together with: Souvenir Map of the World's Columbian Exposition at Jackson Park and Midway Plaisance. Chicago: Hermann Heinze, 1893. 63.2 x 62.3 cm unfolded, folds to small narrow octavo. Bound in red printed wrappers, map printed in colors on white paper. Front cover is loose, some minor edgewear and light soiling, small tear along one of the creases, overall good.
An original souvenir photo album from the 1893 Chicago World's Fair, housing 47 original mounted silver gelatin or collodion black and white photographs of buildings and scenes from the fair, with one additional photograph laid in at the back. Each photograph has a number in the lower left corner of the image which corresponds to a publisher's guide to the image located on the pastedowns of the album.
