First edition of a major treatise by Nikifor Iakovych Hryhoryiv (1883–1953), a Ukrainian political figure, journalist, writer, and pedagogue. Hryhoriv served as organizer of the Information office of the army of the Ukrainian People's Republic, and later as Minister of Education. Following the fall of the Republic in 1920, he fled to Poland with his family and later settled in the United States.
