Three complete years, comprising twenty issues each, in the original printed wrappers, of this Czechoslovak journal for the arts, literature, and criticism. The first two years were edited by the literary critic Bedřich Fučík (1900-1984), after which the poet and writer Vilém Závada (1905-1982) took over. The wrappers of the first year were designed by Jindřich Štyrský. With contributions by F. X. Šalda, František Halas, Ivan Olbracht, Miloš Weingart, Jan Čep, Rene Wellek, Jindřich Chalupecký, Jaroslav Durych, Josef Hora, Karel Toman, Jan Mukařovský, Egon Hostovský, drawings by František Bidlo, translations of work by R. M. Rilke, Thomas Mann, Paul Eluard, Alexander Blok, Pearl S. Buck, and others, especially contemporary Soviet writers and poets.
